WAHM Bites: Embutido
” Busy as a bee.”
That’s how mothers in general are, especially work at home moms.
And one task which almost never goes out of the to-do lists of mothers is cooking.
The long holidays are over but we can still cook food fit for holiday celebrations.
Here’s one meal my family, especially my hubby loves. It’s EMBUTIDO.
I learned how to do it from my mother. But I lost her recipe.
To be honest, I never prepare this without the recipe on hand. I just really don’t want the taste to fall short of yummy!
So when I lost the recipe from my mama, I looked for another one which has almost the same ingredients she uses.
The one I opted for was the recipe provided by panlasangpinoy.com.
Here’s the list of the ingredients listed on the said site:
- 2 lbs ground pork
- 12 pcs vienna sausage or 6 pcs hotdogs, cut in half lengthwise
- 3 pcs hard boiled eggs, sliced
- 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 pcs raw eggs
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup red bell pepper, minced
- 1 cup green bell pepper, minced
- 1 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 cup carrots, minced
- 1 cup onion, minced
- salt and pepper
- 2 cups bread crumbs (made by placing 4 slices of tasty bread in a food processor. If not using any food processor, just tear the bread.)
All you need to do is mix all the ingredients together and wrap them in aluminum foil.
The proper way of wrapping the mixture is demonstrated in the video above at 5:33.
I have you found this recipe and meal to be quick and easy to prepare. Once you have your mixture wrapped, you can store it in the freezer or chiller for up to 2 weeks. And you can serve this for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
Go ahead and watch now and I hope you enjoy preparing EMBUTIDO for your family as much as I do.
Then let me know in the comments whether you also liked it or not, okay.
